Welcome to Home Energy Assessors, where expertise meets passion for creating energy-efficient, healthier, and more comfortable homes.

My story is rooted in decades of hands-on experience, industry leadership, and a steadfast commitment to improving energy efficiency one home at a time.

Experience

• Served in the U.S. Air Force and worked at the Smithsonian in Washington D.C.

• Passion for energy efficiency, healthy homes, and sustainability—worked in the energy-efficiency industry for 20+ years.

  • Spent over four years running a solar and energy assessment company, leading a team of 20 and collaborating with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).

  • Held leadership roles—including serving as Regional Manager for Focus on Energy—where I oversaw statewide residential and commercial energy efficiency programs, including the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® program. I also managed relationships with Trade Ally contractors, ensuring program success across Wisconsin.

Achievements & Industry Leadership

• Became the first BPI Gold Level Contractor in Virginia, and later, the second in Wisconsin.

• Led retrofitting projects, shaped energy policy, and helped set quality benchmarks in the field.

• As a BPI Proctor, trained and certified many of Wisconsin’s energy auditors and Trade Allies—especially in tools like Snugg Pro, a software tools essential for home energy efficiency diagnosis and assessment and accessing Focus on Energy & IRA rebates.
