About Us
Welcome to Home Energy Assessors, where expertise meets passion for creating energy-efficient, healthier, and more comfortable homes. Our story is rooted in decades of hands-on experience, industry leadership, and a steadfast commitment to improving energy efficiency one home at a time.
With over four years of experience running a solar and energy assessment company, I oversaw a team of 20 employees and worked closely with the U.S. Department of Energy on transformative programs, including the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® pilot program.
During this time, we also tackled retrofitting projects, earning the distinction of becoming the first BPI Gold Level Contractor in Virginia. Upon returning to the Midwest, I achieved similar success as the second Gold Level BPI Contractor in Wisconsin.
Beyond certifications, I’ve been a driving force in shaping the energy efficiency landscape. As a BPI Proctor, I certified many of Wisconsin’s energy auditors and trained Trade Allies in essential tools like Snugg Pro software, vital for accessing Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) funds.
My certifications include BPI Analyst, Envelope, and Healthy Home credentials, along with OSHA 10, Lead, and Asbestos Supervisor certifications. These qualifications ensure every project we undertake is guided by the highest standards of safety and technical expertise.
I’ve also held leadership roles as a Regional Manager with Focus on Energy, managing residential and commercial energy efficiency programs. Through these efforts, I’ve developed a deep understanding of the unique energy challenges homes and businesses face in our region.
A fun fact about me? Over the years, I’ve ventured into more than 9,500 attics, each one offering a unique opportunity to make a difference in energy savings and comfort.
